We tend to focus on what needs improvement, and set intentions to shift 180\u02da away from wherever we \u2018went wrong.\u2019 This all or nothing mindset is laced with negativity and undermines success!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to make some changes to improve your health, I applaud you! And I want you to applaud yourself. A great first step in making positive changes is to take inventory of your success. When you take stock of what you\u2019ve done well, you will understand that you are NOT starting from scratch! You are starting from experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Positive change does not happen through self-criticism. It happens through self-compassion.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"614\" src=\"https:\/\/cyndicombs.com\/coaching\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/patient-1024x614.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11724\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cyndicombs.com\/coaching\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/patient-1024x614.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/cyndicombs.com\/coaching\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/patient-300x180.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cyndicombs.com\/coaching\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/patient-768x461.jpg 768w, https:\/\/cyndicombs.com\/coaching\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/patient.jpg 1500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:13px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>When you create a list of changes that you want to love yourself into, do not list the OUTCOMES you desire. Instead: <em>List the changes that create those outcomes.<\/em> For example, don\u2019t exclaim \u201cI will lose 20 pounds!\u201d It is far more effective to list the actions you can take toward the outcome you desire.
