If you don\u2019t know the answer to this question, chances are your motivation is pretty low.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"mce_1\"> Having a deep, powerful why is a monumental motivator! <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Want to motivate others?&nbsp; Help them connect to their why!<br>Want to motivate yourself?&nbsp; Ask yourself WHY you want to do this thing for which you seek motivation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I hear some of\nyou say, \u201cI don\u2019t WANT to do it, I HAVE to do it.\u201d&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>That\u2019s why you have no motivation!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If we feel forced to do something we don\u2019t want to do, of course we don\u2019t feel inspired to jump right in and do our best!&nbsp; Have you ever noticed that getting out of bed to go to a job you\u2019re not thrilled about can be a real challenge?&nbsp; Conversely, how challenging is it to get up on the first day of vacation?&nbsp; Easy, right?!&nbsp; When we want to do it, we\u2019re inspired to action!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So what will it\ntake to shift \u201chave to\u201d into \u201cwant to\u201d?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are often things that feel like we \u201chave to\u201d (NEED to) do them &#8211; as if we have no choice.&nbsp; But we DO have a choice.&nbsp; Always.&nbsp; Sometimes we have a choice about what actions we can take, and sometimes our choice lies in how we perceive what we are doing.&nbsp; It\u2019s the second set I want to discuss today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"614\" src=\"https:\/\/cyndicombs.com\/coaching\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/choices2-1024x614.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4692\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cyndicombs.com\/coaching\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/choices2-1024x614.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/cyndicombs.com\/coaching\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/choices2-300x180.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cyndicombs.com\/coaching\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/choices2-768x461.jpg 768w, https:\/\/cyndicombs.com\/coaching\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/choices2.jpg 1500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"> <strong>Two Easily-Relatable Examples<\/strong> <br><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Work Scenario &#8211;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I have to go to\nwork because I have debt and DREAMS!&nbsp; I\nNEED money, so I am forced to spend my time in this way that I do not want!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Health Scenario &#8211;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I have to lose\nweight.&nbsp; I don\u2019t like how my body\nlooks.&nbsp; I\u2019m unhealthy.&nbsp; My doctor says I have to give up foods that I\nlove and work my body harder, and I just don\u2019t want to!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All of the thoughts in each scenario point in the direction of unwanted.&nbsp; They push against.&nbsp; These are energy draining thoughts, and most of us <strong>FEEL <\/strong>our energy drain just reading them.&nbsp; Who wants to <strong>LIVE<\/strong> them?&nbsp; If this is how our thoughts feel around any subject, we will NOT be motivated by them.&nbsp; We might find ways to buffer our feelings and just put up with the crappy job.&nbsp; We can certainly create plans with action steps that could lead us to our health goals.&nbsp; But if the whole thing feels like it\u2019s being forced on us, then we are powerless to create sustainable change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"> <strong>We want to be at choice.<\/strong> <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"614\" src=\"https:\/\/cyndicombs.com\/coaching\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/freedom-1024x614.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4690\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cyndicombs.com\/coaching\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/freedom-1024x614.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/cyndicombs.com\/coaching\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/freedom-300x180.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cyndicombs.com\/coaching\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/freedom-768x461.jpg 768w, https:\/\/cyndicombs.com\/coaching\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/freedom.jpg 1500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Choice empowers\nus.&nbsp; How can we choose to reframe the\nabove thoughts so they are serving and motivating us instead of draining\nus?&nbsp; There are as many possibilities as\nthere are people.&nbsp; It\u2019s going to be\ndifferent for each of us, but here are some possibilities to consider:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Work Scenario &#8211;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I have a steady\nsource of income.&nbsp; I am moving toward my\ngoals.&nbsp; I\u2019m paying off debt.&nbsp; I\u2019m saving for my future, getting closer to\nmy dreams.&nbsp; This position is a blessing,\nand a stepping stone on my path to the next position that suits me better and\nchecks off more of my boxes.&nbsp; I am\ncontent that I have this place to stand where I can see my dreams moving toward\nme, and I can choose to be delighted that I feel my dreams moving closer.&nbsp; I choose to spend some of my time earning\nmoney, and make the MOST of the rest of my hours by finding things that lift my\nvibration and allow me to enjoy each day of my life!&nbsp; This is not where I end up, this is the middle\nof my story, and so much MORE is flowing to me now!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Health Scenario &#8211;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I want to feel\nhealthy &amp; energized.&nbsp; I want to feel\nconfident in my skin.&nbsp; I want to trust\nmyself &amp; the choices I make.&nbsp; I can\nmake small adjustments that bring steady improvement.&nbsp; I want steady improvements.&nbsp; I want to move in the direction my\ngoals.&nbsp; I want to learn what foods truly\nserve my greater health.&nbsp; It\u2019s not the\nsame for everyone, and I am curious what I will find to be true for me.&nbsp; Trying new foods is exciting.&nbsp; I wonder which activities feel good once I\ngive them a chance?&nbsp; What wonderful new\nfoods and activities will I discover that I love?&nbsp; I want to feel excited about healthy\nchoices.&nbsp; I am excited about growing\nconfident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Which ones\nresonate for you? Which motivate you? What are some energy supporting thoughts\nthat came up for you as you read these?&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Changing our\nthoughts takes practice, because the thoughts we\u2019ve been practicing are already\nin there and attracting more thoughts like the ones we\u2019ve been practicing!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first step to\nchanging our thoughts into ones that motivate us is awareness!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"> <strong>Grow on!<\/strong> <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>What came up for\nyou as you read the thought examples above?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What thoughts are\nyou currently thinking that already motivate you toward your goals?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Which thoughts\nare holding you back?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How can you reframe\nthose to support you in moving toward your goal?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What\u2019s your Why?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What\u2019s your Why?
