I’m heading to Hawaii next week, and I just want to thank my past self for booking this trip. THANK YOU, past Cyndi!

Long ago, I was the kind of person who told myself I couldn’t afford to travel… that I didn’t deserve the trip… that I should work harder…

Blah, blah, blah.

Sound familiar?

I got my first passport nine years ago, when Jeremy’s son invited us to his wedding in Italy. Perfect. I finally had an excuse.

We had to go. We had to be there for Colin.

And since we were already spending all that time and money just to get there, I figured the longer we stayed, the cheaper that made the plane tickets… right? I’m pretty sure that’s exactly how it works.

Anyway, long story short… I realized just how much travel lights me up and charges my batteries. So for me, investing in travel is worth every penny. It brings me joy… and honestly, what are we, really, if not joy-seeking missiles?

Trogir, Croatia ~ June 2025

One of the coolest things about travel is how it shifts my energy. I let myself drop fully into the moment and really be there. I lie on a beach blanket and listen to the ocean. I soak in the golden glow of sunset and capture photos that keep lifting me long after the moment has passed.

And I return there often. Not just to the place itself—but to the memory of the feeling it creates.

When I picture myself walking along the walls of Dubrovnik, I can feel the sun on my shoulders and taste the salt in the air.

When I think about being on the terrace of Hotel Vila Tina, the sun rising over the Adriatic, my energy shifts and I can feel the joy as if I’m right back in that moment.

And when I imagine watching the sun set from our lanai on the Kona Reef, I’m transported into a feeling of complete ease that feels like I’m right there again.

So when I found a great deal on airline tickets, and the little voice in my head said, “Are you sure you should?! You had a rough year financially,” I thanked her for her input, then joyfully purchased the tickets anyway. Because I knew how much I needed the rest. I knew how much it would lift me.

And here I stand, after moving my practice, launching my sound bath studio, and hosting a grand opening, so, so grateful that I bought those tickets six months ago. So thank you, past Cyndi, for remembering the value of deep rest.

Turns out, I’m not just collecting places.

I’m collecting moments that energize me and feed my soul.

And when I get back, you just might catch a little of that Aloha energy in a sound bath.
