It’s normal human behavior to get caught up in what’s missing, what we need, or what we don’t have yet. When our attention is focused there, it can be surprisingly easy to overlook the infinite abundance all around us.

The theme for my next sound bath is Abundance, and it got me thinking about one of my favorite meditations: simply look around you and notice how MUCH abundance is everywhere.

Have you ever tried to count the leaves on a tree, the blades of grass at the park, the grains of sand on the beach, or the hairs on your cat? What about the drops of water in a cloud, the grains of salt in the sea, or the cells in your own body? Good luck with that. There is an abundant amount of abundance happening all around us, all the time.

Abundance is not the exception. It’s the rule.

And we don’t have to create it. We don’t have to earn it. We don’t have to figure out how to make it happen.

Abundance is woven into the natural world, and we are part of that nature.

The practice, then, might be less about trying to manifest abundance and more about appreciating what is already here in abundance. The breath in your body. The people you love. A beautiful view. A delicious meal. A good laugh. A moment of peace. The tiny, ordinary things that are easy to overlook when our attention is busy searching for what comes next, or what we think may be lacking.

The more we notice, the more we remember that abundance isn’t something we have to chase down and capture. It’s something we can learn to recognize and appreciate.

Nothing to chase. Nothing to prove. Nothing missing in this moment.

Abundance is already here. Where are you appreciating it?
