You’re allowed to want what you want.

Even if it doesn’t make sense to anyone else. Even if you can’t explain it. There is something inside you that knows what lights you up, and it doesn’t need permission, a business plan, or anyone’s approval to be valid.

Most of us were taught to override that voice. We learned to be practical, to play it safe, to choose what looks good in theory, or makes other people comfortable. We were taught to trust logic over aliveness. And slowly, without even realizing it, we start building lives that look appropriate from the outside but feel flat on the inside.

Here’s what I’ve come to understand: what lights you up is not random. It’s not frivolous. It’s not something to do later, once everything else is handled. It is your path. That pull you feel toward something, even if it makes no sense, is actually guidance. It’s your energy responding to something you feel deeply.

I didn’t choose sound healing because it was the safe or obvious path. There was no moment where it all added up on paper and I thought, “Yes, this is the most practical next step.” I chose it because something in me came alive when I experienced it. There was a resonance in my body that I couldn’t ignore. And the more I followed that, the more everything in my life began to shift. Not because it was perfect or easy, but because I followed my bliss.

When you ignore what lights you up, there’s a cost. It doesn’t always show up dramatically at first. It can look like low-grade exhaustion, or feeling disconnected, or constantly chasing the next thing that’s supposed to make you feel better. It’s that subtle sense that something is missing, even when everything seems “fine.”

The shift isn’t about blowing up your whole life overnight. It’s simpler than that, and also more honest. It’s about changing the question. Instead of asking, “Does this make sense?” or “Is this the right move?” start asking, “Does this spark joy in me?” That question allows you to soar to a whole new place.

You don’t have to figure it all out. You don’t have to justify it or explain it or turn it into something productive. Just start by following the spark, even in small ways. That’s where your energy is. That’s where your life is waiting.

Grow On!

  • Where have you been choosing what makes sense over what actually lights you up?
  • What is one thing you feel pulled toward right now… even if you can’t explain why?
  • What would shift if you trusted that nudge just a little more this week?
