I just want to THANK all of you for joining me as I learn about video blogging! Honestly, the day before I started this group, I had to Google “how do I make a video using my Mac computer?” So really, I’m doing amazingly well and I appreciate each of YOU for coming along for the ride with me before I learn one single editing skill.

Medical Medium Recipe Success or Failure
Blueberry Muffins – Huge success reported from everyone who tries them Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie – Delicious Liver Rescue Smoothie – Creamy & satisfying Sweet Potato Black Bean Salad – seal of approval from cleanse and non-cleanse people alike Lentil Tacos – Yum – AND child approved! Nachos Potatoes – one of my favorite MM recipes Potato Pancake with Cucumber Radish Salad – Weird combo. Jeremy and I liked the potato pancakes, and we liked the salad (though will leave out honey next time), but these two do not belong on the same plate in our opinions. Liver Rescue Salad – Both options rock Baked Falafel Salad – Just NO. This was pretty awful and our first disappointment in the MM recipes. Roasted Veggie Pasta – Will do again, even NOT on cleanse! Chickpea Quiche – This has been reported from two clients as a big YES!
Steam Brussels sprouts. Cut them in half and drizzle with a mixture of:
Roasted garlic Maple syrup lemon juice water pinch Chipotle (optional) Recipe by Jeremy
Roasted vs. Steamed
Since vegetables don’t come in contact with cooking water during steaming, more vitamins are retained. Dry cooking methods such as grilling, or roasting also retain a greater amount of nutrients than boiling. Thank you Google. I include the forbidden roasted potatoes recipe for reasons stated in my video today.
Rosemary Potatoes
Sauté some garlic and fresh rosemary in water or vegetable broth. Add some lemon juice to the garlic and rosemary. Drizzle the garlic rosemary mixture over the top of steamed potato.
The following is NOT an approved cleanse recipe.
Slice one russet potato into wedges. Sauté some garlic and fresh rosemary in water or vegetable broth. Add lemon juice to the garlic and rosemary. Marinate potato wedges for 30 minutes and then roast until browned at 350˚.
Spinach Soup
Soup recipe at this link. I got too lazy to do cucumber noodles, so I just did cucumber slices. Don’t forget to eat at least two apples between lunch and dinner, along with MORE cucumbers and celery sticks.

Brussels for lunch and Brussels for dinner makes you sorta look forward to an all liquid diet on day nine! I like Brussels sprouts, but I do not LOVE Brussels sprouts. The first time we did the cleanse we made the error of roasting, rather than steaming our sprouts. This time we steamed them, but not wanting either of us to get bored, my kitchen witch whipped up an AMAZING little sauce to drizzle on your sprouts! Jeremy lightly steamed the Brussels sprouts and then cut them in half and drizzled them with:
Roasted garlic Maple syrup lemon juice water pinch Chipotle (optional)
I am DELIGHTED with his preparation!! ~Will share photo tomorrow.

We were down to our last two apples, so we made a run to Costco for more Honeycrisps. Needed more spinach and asparagus, too!
Honeycrisps cost more, but when you’re supposed to eat 3-5 apples a day, they are worth the price. if you get tired of eating apples on this cleanse, buy Honeycrisps!
Pro tip on the Liver Rescue Smoothie
It was cold at my house yesterday with a thunderstorm blowing through! I was hungry for my second smoothie, but wasn’t looking forward to a cold shake on such a cold day, so I let the blueberries thaw before making the smoothie! I normally LOVE my smoothies to be cold, but this was a perfect solution on a rainy day in May.
Since I was still hungry and it was SO good, a made a third shake.
Pro tip on Salad Prep
Cut all the greens off your multitude of beautiful radishes so they don’t rot in the veggie drawer. Don’t throw them away! Add them to your salad as one of your leafy greens!
Here’s what Medical Medium says about radish greens: These leaves of the radish are the second most powerful prebiotic there is (next to wild blueberries). Radish greens hold a plethora of nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, phytochemicals, and cancer-fighting alkaloids, plus the greens possess antibacterial and antiviral properties. They repair the colon and other parts of the intestinal tract that have lost the ability to absorb nutrients. Radish greens’ nutrition absorbs into the most dysfunctional digestive tracts, assimilating better than any other food, thanks to their high enzymatic profile; the greens contain various enzymes that are not yet documented by scientific study and that allow for the uptake of nutrients.

OPTION A 2 bananas ½ cup fresh, or 2 tablespoons powdered dragon fruit 2 cups fresh or frozen or 2 tablespoons powdered wild blueberries ½ cup water (optional) If using the powder, water is not optional
Medical Medium provides two options for your LiverRescue Smoothie here. I have been unable to find dragonfruit in my area, but my friend Lara sent tis picture of the beautiful fruits she bought to prepare for the cleanse.
Liver Rescue Salad
My Liver Rescue Salad was a huge hit at the potluck last night! I made a gihugenormous salad to share and none of it came home. I added green beans to option B just because I had them on hand and they made a nice addition.

I had to choose between sticking to my food plan or posting a video, so I opted to stick to my plan and write a short post. Why no video? Day 3 and I am having detox symptoms related to SIBO, which I have had in the past. My theory is that when I eat foods that I am not supposed to eat, like the recent cheese incident, the intestinal bacteria flourishes. Then I starve it of its favorite foods and the bacteria start dying off in droves causing toxic symptoms. Just a theory from my muddled mind this morning.
Apples
Yesterday on day two, we had one apple before lunch.
Today on day three, we eat two apples before lunch.
We are also eating two apples each day after lunch and before dinner along with 1-4 dates. If you don’t like dates, substitute dried or fresh grapes, figs, or mulberries.
Tomorrow on day 4, the morning apples go away, but after lunch, we switch from two apples, to “AT LEAST” two apples with our dates or date substitutes, AND we add celery sticks to the apples and dates.
If you are still hungry or “snacky” after dinner, turn to apples or applesauce again. If you are not making the applesauce yourself, make sure it’s a high-quality organic with no preservatives.
Blueberry Muffins
One of my clients is starting the cleanse today and prepped the muffins yesterday. His look WAY better than mine, so I wanted to share his image. Thanks Kasey!
Lentil Tacos
Jeremy made these for our lunch yesterday. They were amazing!
Produce Ready!
We went to Sprouts yesterday to pick up a few items for the next 5 days.
Celery Juice
Don’t forget tomorrow (on Day 4 of the cleanse) we drink 16-20 ounces of celery juice after our morning lemon water and at least 20 minutes before breakfast!
Just a quick note for clarity: Celery juice is to be consumed without adding anything else to it! No salt, no lemon, nothing else. the magic happens when the straight celery juice goes into an empty tummy (after your 16 ounces lemon water).
I know today is day one of the cleanse for several of you, so GO YOU! You are awesome and spectacular and amazing for showing up with the intention of improving your health! For being AWARE there are changes you CAN make, and for reaching for healing foods!
You can do this. You are doing it. You are a ROCKSTAR!
I’ll be back tomorrow with more hints, tips, recipes inspirations and encouragements to help keep YOU motivated, and moving toward your healing goals and energized life!
I would love to hear from you about what works for you and what challenges you face!

I had technical difficulties today and ended up forgetting to tell you that I got a caffeine headache yesterday. Instead of getting off the coffee two to three days prior to the cleanse as I so wisely advised you to do, I upped my coffee in the days leading to the cleanse due to a couple of nights poor sleep. I had a wicked headache yesterday and ended up taking a two hour nap in the afternoon! It was my day off, so I was grateful to have the option and I listened to my body and honored what it needed.
Potato Pancakes with Cucumber Radish Salad recipe can be found at this link and on page 402.
Dinner Options
On day 1, Jeremy and I grilled salmon for dinner along with a large green salad and our leftover sweet potato salad from lunch. We also threw a chicken breast on the grill to use for dinner on day 2.
Day 2 dinner option is Nachos Potatoes to which we’ll add the grilled chicken. Find the recipe at this link. Since the cleanse is reducing the usual fat intake by 50%, we will use the cashew based aioli sauce, but skip the avocado that we usually add to this recipe. Jeremy and I enjoy this recipe very much and have made it several times.
On day 3, I have been invited to a pot luck. I am bringing my own grass fed steak to throw on the grill, then to share with everyone, I am making a great big bowl of Liver Rescue Salad Option B with Orange Garlic Dressing!
It’s really a beautiful salad, and I enjoy the flavors mixed with the orange and garlic. Yummy!
I would love to hear from you about what works for you and what challenges you face!
